Accessories carry the look
In menswear the accessories do more work than the garments, because a plain black shirt and trousers become gothic through what goes over them. A harness adds structure across the chest, a jabot or necktie fills the collar, and a studded belt breaks the waistline. One or two are usually enough; the range is built to be combined sparingly.
