Outerwear: choosing by warmth and length
Warmth and silhouette are separate decisions
The longest piece is not always the warmest. An unlined brocade tailcoat reaches the calf and gives almost no warmth, while a padded hip-length jacket gives plenty. Decide the silhouette first, then check the lining on the product page, because the two do not correlate in this range.

Sizing
Outerwear is drafted to go over other clothes, but not by much. Measure your chest over the jumper you intend to wear underneath. Asian sizing runs roughly one size below EU and US for women and two for men.

- Measure your chest over a jumper first. If that measurement falls between sizes, take the larger.

- No. Brocade and wool blend are dry clean only.
- What is the difference between a cape and a coat?
- A cape hangs from the shoulder with no sleeves. A coat has sleeves and fits the body.
