Harness parts: what fits what
Adjusting rather than replacing
Most harness fit problems are solved with a part rather than a new piece. Strap extensions add length at the shoulder or waist, garter clips convert a leg harness to attach to tights, and chain drops change the look without changing the fit. Check the hardware size on the product page: O-rings and clips are not universal across the range.
| Part | Solves | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Strap extension | Too tight at chest or waist | Most adjustable harnesses |
| Garter clip | Attaching to tights | Leg and thigh harnesses |
| Chain drop | Changing the look | Any O-ring harness |
| Belt extension | Waist size | Buckled belts |
Fitting
Measure over the clothes you intend to wear the harness with, not against bare skin. If a chest harness is within a few centimetres of fitting, an extension will usually close the gap.
Frequently asked
- Will an extension fit any harness?
- No. O-ring and clip sizes vary across the range. Check the hardware measurement on the product page.
- What is a garter clip for?
- Attaching a leg or thigh harness to tights, so it stays in place rather than sliding.
- Can a belt be extended?
- Buckled belts usually can. Fixed-loop styles cannot.
- How do I know what size part I need?
- Measure the existing hardware. The product page states O-ring diameter and strap width in millimetres.
