What makes a pair of trousers punk rather than just black?
The strapping. Punk trousers inherit the bondage-trouser design of the late seventies: removable leg straps linked by D-rings, buckles at the knee, and zips placed for effect rather than access. Add asymmetric panelling and heavy stitching, and the trouser reads punk even in plain black.
